This was the second look shot at Central Park with Micaiah! These photos were taken a few weeks back (it's definitely too cold in New York during this time of year to wear an outfit like this out!). I find myself having to bundle up in all black everyday because I didn't really bring enough "winter" clothing from home. Although, most of the clothes I wear in the winter back in California still aren't warm enough for a New York winter. I'm excited to get to visit home this week though and be in warmer climates (as well as having In-N-Out animal fries again)!
My favorite part about this look is how well the illustrations on these tattoo tights go with the print of this blouse tied around my waist from Chaser. I wore a white top and skirt to compliment the prints with something more simple, and wore my leaf crown, which is my favorite headpiece of the moment! I really can't wait to go home so I can head back to Haight-Ashbury and go thrifting for more interesting headpieces. Most of the vintage shops I've been to here in the city are on the pricier side but maybe I just need to do some more exploring!

What advice would you give to a person who would like to apply to Parsons?
ReplyDeleteHi! My advice for the portfolio is to make sure you showcase a wide variety of skills and not just one thing! For example, if you're a fashion major, don't submit only fashion focused work. You can submit other work like graphic design work, a film, a sculpture etc. It's also good to show work in a wide variety of mediums too. Remember that there's a ton of people who apply to Parsons who can draw well, and that with the right teaching and enough practice, most people can be trained to draw and fabricate well. So Parsons is more interested in applicants who show that they have a unique point of view; those are the applicants who will stand out more to them. But the school also wants to make sure you have a good basic understanding of Fine Arts when you apply so try your best to balance unique perspective with a showcasing of your skills. Hope this helps!
