Purple Flower Crown c/o Roses & Clementines, Burgundy Bodycon Dress c/o Lulu*s, Nude Ankle Strap Heels from Nine West

Today I am wearing one of my favorite pieces from Lulu*s at the moment, this strapless burgundy dress featuring a deep V neckline. It's a very simple cut but the neckline makes it much more fun than your typical bodycon dress! It's perfect for going out to dinner or to a party in the evening. For this look, I am collaborating with Lulu*s for their Galentine's Day giveaway where you and your best friend have the chance to win free dresses for a year! My galentine this year is one of my blogger best friends, Eunice from Miss Danbee, so be sure to also check out how she styled the lovely Lulu*s dress she picked out!

Forget the flowers and treat yourself to a year of fresh frocks instead ;) Lulu*s will be giving away one free dress a month to the lucky winner and her best pal for all of 2014! To enter, follow the link and make sure to refer your best friend with your custom generated link for a chance to win: http://bit.ly/dressesforayear!

MODERN CAVALRY

Navy Beanie Cap from Uniqlo, Officer's Jacket from Denim & Supply, Navy Lace Bralette from Gilly Hicks,
Sailor Skirt c/o Oasap, Over-the-knee Boots from H&M

This jacket is very special to me because I had previously had my eye on it ever since I saw it styled in Avicii's Wake Me Up music video but also because it was given to me as a Christmas gift by my boyfriend! This Denim & Supply piece was designed as an officer inspired jacket, but in my opinion, it also had some equestrian flair so I paired it with this beanie from Uniqlo which I thought resembled a riding cap!

To make this look romantic, I wore my navy lace bralette paired with this flirty sailor skirt from Oasap. For some added color, I wore my slouchy tan boots from H&M which can be folded up to make them over the knee boots! For this shoot, my boyfriend and I went downtown and took these photos together and I really do feel like we found such a perfect backdrop for this outfit!

I also redesigned my blog again to make it more user friendly and made a new banner that resembles my old one more and reflects the title of my blog better than the one I've had up the past few weeks. In addition, I updated my About Me page with some more information so feel free to take a look and also let me know what you think of the new design in the comments below! :)

ZELDA INSPIRED

Dark Green Beanie from eBay (Similar), Green Chiffon Dress c/o Ellysage, Skinny Brown Belt from Forever 21,
Floral Slave Bracelet c/o Roses and Clementines, Nude Ankle Strap Pumps from Nine West

One of my favorite outfit combinations is putting together a slouchy beanie with a dress! It's such an easy way to make a dress more casual while also making the overall look more edgy. Today I decided to match my dark green beanie with my dress from Ellysage and after adding my brown skinny belt, the outfit really began to resemble Link from the Legend of Zelda!

This amazing floral bracelet that I'm wearing was handmade by fellow fashion blogger, Rachael Dobbins, who owns the online store, Roses and Clementines, where she sells all sorts of beautiful flower crowns and other floral accessories. In the past, I've also modeled two of her flower crowns in my previous outfits as well: a pink one and a purple one! Her pieces are very well made and she takes custom orders so I would certainly recommend buying from her shop! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Peach Bow Blouse c/o Minty Jungle, Pink Ruffled Tutu c/o Chicwish, Moon Ring and Sun Ring c/o Lilacs in the Sun, Nude Ankle Strap Pumps from Nine West

I never realized how many memories taking photos on this street again would bring back for me after having not taking photos here for months since I first left for New York at the end of summer. I remember the first time I met one of my favorite lookbookers in person at the LB NYFW party, he commented jokingly asking me where my backlit lighting was! My backlit lighting used to be nothing more than an easy way for me to light my photos in an appealing manner, but now it means the warm embrace of California sunshine, something I yearn for whenever it drops below 60 degrees in New York. I always knew that New York would be where I would find my career, but I still can't help missing California everyday.

Today I am wearing this quirky bow blouse from Minty Jungle! It's made from a transparent material that also has a lot of volume if you bunch the sleeves up too. I matched it with my pink petticoat skirt from Chicwish for a very girly look, reminiscent of Princess Peach! Lastly, I accessorized this outfit with a crescent moon and sun ring from Lilacs in the Sun. They are handmade so if you have slim fingers they can be custom made to fit your size. I especially can't wait to bring this sun ring back to New York to remind me of home!

Until next time, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! <3

WINSTON

Tan Beanie from 2020AVE, Red Plaid Scarf from H&M, Red Lace Bralette from Gilly Hicks, Brown Skinny Belt from Forever 21,
Red High-Low Skirt c/o Romwe, Tan Wool Socks from 2020AVE, Suede Fleece Boots from Timberland

Last Friday, I had the amazing opportunity to do a photo shoot with a horse! My boyfriend knew that I am a huge fan of the collaboration between Denim & Supply and Avicii for their Wake Me Up music video, so he thought that I would like to recreate a similar shoot and set this up for me :) I would like to thank him and his friend Sara (who works at the stable), this handsome horse here (whose name is Winston) for being so friendly to work with, and the owner of Winston for letting us take photos with him!

I bought this plaid scarf on a whim from H&M but it ended up being a great purchase because of its boldness and how it can also double as a large shawl. I paired it with my red lace bralette and matching high low skirt for a more romantic and dramatic touch. To keep my legs warm, I wore a pair of tan over-the-knee wool socks with my new Timberland boots! The soles are so comfortable and the boots in general really transform an outfit into something more outdoorsy and adventurous. If you need a new pair of cold weather boots this season, these would be my personal recommendation!

Happy New Year as well guys! I really feel that 2014 is going to be a year for some more exciting photo shoots like this one! :)
