DIY Choker, Faux Shark Tooth Necklace c/o Ardene, Beige Long Cardigan from Crossroads
Off-The-Shoulder Top c/o Her Velvet Vase (Use code artinourblood35 for 35% off your order!)
Bohemian Leggings from Ardene, Fringe Ankle Boots c/o LAMODA101

As of late, I've really been loving bohemian fashion, and I think that also has a lot to do with me wanting to be connected with nature more! This is a series of photos I'm really happy with as I think the beauty of the garments and the beauty of the environment are both showcased equally and go hand-in-hand with one another.

For this outfit post and my next, I got to work with my friend Mag, who along with her sister, Clare, are the founders of Her Velvet Vase! I met Mag at Parsons and she's one of my dearest friends there! This off the shoulder top is from HVV, and it's truly a gorgeous staple piece to have in your closet. Unlike other off the shoulder tops I've seen at the mall, this one is of a nice thick, stretchy fabric, rather than something more flimsy and thin. You can also use code artinourblood35 for 35% off your order at Her Velvet Vase! :)

The top really matched the vibe of these printed leggings from Ardene. I now realize I've been missing out on how flattering leggings with vertically striped prints are! They not only elongate your figure a ton, but they emphasize the natural curve of your body (which is great when you have straighter hips like me!)

I accessorized this look with a choker I made myself with this lovely ribbon given to me by my friend Sam, and this tooth necklace from Ardene. For shoes, these fringe boots from LAMODA101 were practically calling out to me! It's very bohemian but still with an overall minimalism. For added warmth, I tossed on this long cardigan which I thrifted from Crossroads (my favorite shop—I never fail to find tons of beautiful secondhand pieces and at such low prices!)

Hope you guys are enjoying the holidays! I'm very excited for what 2016 will bring too and have some big things planned! ;) Thanks for stopping by! x

Happy holidays! This dressy outfit is in collaboration with LuLu*s to bring you some holiday fashion inspiration :) I'm wearing head to toe LuLu*s! I absolutely love this convertible wrap dress because I've always found that my formal dresses get the least wear, but with this one, you can switch up the neckline in endless combinations, having a new look for each occasion! Not to mention, convertible dresses are a lot more eco friendly since you can get so many styles out of one garment (also making it so easy to take it from Christmas to a New Years party,) and you get to wrap it around to get the perfect body-hugging fit.

For accessories, I decided to go with a set of arm cuffs to add some classic goddess vibes! I love wrapping/bandage details in general so these crisscross ones were a match made in heaven! The most sparkly rhinestone clutch added just the right amount of sparkle, while these vampy caged heels added a romantic and vampy touch to finish off my look.

LuLu*s is also having an amazing contest right now where 5 lucky winners will each win a $1000 LuLu*s shopping spree! You'd easily be set for all the party dresses you'd ever need for any occassion in 2016 :) To enter the LuLu*s Party Perfect Contest,

1. Follow @lulus on Instagram
2. Upload a new photo to of your *party perfect* holiday look
3. Tag @lulus in the caption & use #LULUSpartyperfect

This contest is open internationally, and your profile must be public to enter. Unlimited entries are allowed and the winner will be announced on the LuLu*s blog on 1/1/2016! Full terms and conditions are available at www.lulus.com/contest :) Good luck!

Wishing you all the most wonderful holidays and New Years! Love, Jennifer x

ONLY AT BELLOVELLA

Monday, December 21, 2015

Photos by Kiana Fatemi

Today's post is particularly special as I'd like to introduce you all to Bellovella, a new online marketplace where up-and-coming designers launch their collections! And their launch designer just so happens to be an incredibly talented Parsons graduate, Justin Chu, who is also the recipient of prestigious awards from CFDA and Style.com!

Bellovella's goal is to ensure that every talented designer has a chance to share their work with the world. One of the biggest challenges faced by new designers is getting their work produced and available for sale, and that's the problem that Bellovella is here to solve. I so strongly support what Bellovella is doing because:
1) I'm a fashion design student myself who understands the challenges and financial obstacles of getting a clothing line produced
2) As a shopper (and also from a blogger's perspective,) who doesn't want to be the first to discover and be wearing the clothes of the next big designer or be wearing the next biggest trend/innovation? :)
Not to mention, the co-founders of Bellovella, whom I have met myself, are so kind, genuine, and devoted to what they do, so that in itself deserves it's own shoutout! :)

So onto the outfit—I'm wearing a sculptural white poncho top by Justin Chu! As a designer, Justin explores the notion that his wearers can find their own identity, world and form through escaping reality in their own silhouette. For me, this top, which I found reminiscent of a blanket of snow, transported me into a winter fantasy type of world, which was the basis of inspiration for this outfit! I hope you guys will like this "Snow Queen" inspired look and photos! ;)

Be sure to stop by Bellovella and check out the site too! <3

WINTER ADVENTURE

DIY Flower Hair Pin, Thrifted Moto Jacket, Faux Suede Top c/o LAMODA101, Fingerless Gloves from Target, Western Style Belt from ASOS, Red Floral Skirt from LF, Over the Knee Boots from Ivanka Trump

Shearling moto jackets are my favorite pieces of outerwear for the colder months! Because they are fuzzy all throughout the interior, they keep you so warm while the structure of the jacket still gives you a strong silhouette! I found this faux shearling jacket from Crossroads the other day for only $18 :) It paired gorgeously with this (also faux) suede crop top from LaModa101. If you are into minimalist pieces that also make a statement, you will love the pieces they have curated for their store.

This floral skirt is another piece I recently got from Crossroads! It's LF and I found it for only $5! I belted it to add a touch of western flair, and threw on my fingerless gloves and thigh high boots for more warmth. A big flower hair pin added just the right amount of a romantic touch to my outfit!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and good luck to those of you in finals! :)

HOLIDAY READY WITH ARDENE

Friday, November 27, 2015

Not being a creature of the cold, I much prefer the holiday season in California, versus snowy New York! So today I'm bringing you guys my take on a holiday ready look, complete with a California twist, as part of my recent collaboration with Ardene! Ardene is a Canadian fashion retailer, but for those of you in New York, you'll be able to stop by their first US store at Crossgates Mall which just opened!

Even in the winter, I love being able to show some skin still so I'll make sure that I keep the rest of my body nice and warm. Luckily, California winters are not very brutal so I'm happy I get to wear crop tops year round! ;) I paired mine with a pair of black skinnies and matching black platform boots to further elongate the line of my legs. Then, to stay warm on top, I wore a chunky dark burgundy/plum cardigan, and layered a cozy plaid blanket scarf over it! Blanket scarves are definitely a favorite of mine because you can also wear them as a shawl! Lastly, to add a little sparkle, I wore these dainty sharktooth and crystal necklaces.

Anyways, thank you for stopping by and I hope for those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving, that you all had a happy Thanksgiving! And if you're out shopping today, I hope that you got some great deals! :)

Cutout Cat Eye Sunglasses c/o Freyrs, DIY Rainbow Dress, Cutout Gem Cuff c/o 2020AVE, DIY White Fluffy Heels

Today's look is inspired by the sky: with rainbow gradients and fluffy cloud heels! I got this amazing rainbow dress for only $7 off of Vinted recently! It's originally from Forever 21 but as I needed to take it in on the sides a bit, I decided to also give the dress a whole new halter tie neckline while I was at it!

The chunky white heels are from Poshmark which I got for only $9. I love fluffy heels but they can be expensive, but luckily it's super easy to add on the trim yourself, which you can find at the fabric store!

With some basic sewing skills and DIY knowledge, you can save a lot of money and transform old garments into new styles, which helps our environment too :) And definitely check out Vinted and Poshmark if you haven't before; especially if you love thrifting and shopping secondhand, you'll love being able to do so straight from your phone or computer!

For accessories, I wore these lovely cutout sunglasses from Freyrs! The shape of the frame is very flattering and the lenses have such a vibrant color to them. These are also super durable as the frame is metal! It paired so well with my cutout arm cuff from 2020AVE too. I love when things match so perfectly!

I hope you guys like the new post as more outfit posts are coming very soon! :) Hope you all have a lovely week!

Black & Gold Clubmasters c/o Freyrs, Custom "Dolly & Charlie" Necklaces c/o Jane Basch Jewelry, Plaid Pleated Dress from Papaya, Double Buckle Belt from Forever 21, Custom Fit Over-The-Knee Suede Boots c/o Ted & Muffy

Photos by Unbearably Stylish

For the past two months, you may have observed I have been on a break from blogging. I have not been doing too well emotionally, but having taken time off to try to find myself again emotionally and creatively has helped me immensely. I've been rediscovering my love for styling and photography, and I can't thank those of you enough who have continued to support me and keep up with my blog despite the ups and downs!

As someone who is emotionally driven, my outfits have always meant more than just the aesthetic pleasure. They serve as an outlet for all my emotions—both the high and low ones. So I hope you will continue to stick with me as I share my outfits, and similarly, my emotional journey and growth. <3

In my hiatus, I did turn 20 on September 13th! And I had a birthday photoshoot with my beloved dogs, Dolly and Charlie :) It is thanks to Jane Basch that my longing for necklaces with their names on them has finally been fulfilled! Literally and figuratively, I always get to keep them close to my heart and that brings me a lot of joy and comfort.

A bold red dress never fails to make me feel confident, especially styled with a pair of amazing, over-the-knee boots. This gorgeous pair is from Ted & Muffy, a new footwear brand that has a fairytale fit promise. They made these boots to my exact calf circumference! What more can you ask for? :) If you have trouble finding boots with a smaller or larger calf circumference, I would personally just skip the hassle and get custom made ones from Ted & Muffy!

All I needed to complete the look was a wide belt to cinch in the waist of the dress, and a pair of clubmaster sunglasses from Freyrs that perfectly accented the gold and black tones already in my outfit. The style of these sunnies are my ultimate favorite. They match with everything and the gold rims photograph so well. I owned a pair a long time ago but I let someone borrow them and they went missing :( Thanks Freyrs for restoring me with my favorite sunnies! They've got so many affordable styles, both classic and more trendy, and in a ton of colors. I'll be showcasing more of them to you in my upcoming posts!

I know this is a long post but I did have some explaining to do about the past two months ;) And I'm certainly pretty excited to be blogging again in general! Thank you to all my readers, both the ones who've stuck around for so long and the new ones too! <3
