Three Pearl Necklace c/o Lulu*s, Vintage Long White Gloves, Gold Metallic Gown c/o Lulu*s, Gold Pointy Toed Heels (Similar) c/o Lulu*s

Photos by my sister, Michelle

The third look in my storybook series is inspired by Princess Belle! Ever since I was young, Beauty and the Beast has been one of my favorite fairytales because for some reason I just really loved the characters of Mrs. Potts and Chip (the talking teapot and teacup), as well as the Wardrobe.

In putting together a modern interpretation of Belle's outfit, I started my search looking for a yellow gown. Though after some more thought, I realized that gold was a much better color to go with because it does have yellow tones but in a much more subtle and wearable way. Not to mention, gold looks great on all complexions (whereas yellow can be tricky!), and is extremely elegant! Because Belle also accessorizes her dress with a pair of long gloves, I paired my gown with these vintage white gloves, and then added my pearl necklace for a touch of detail that even casually references the "pearl" adornments at the top of her dress bodice.  And this look certainly would not be complete without the most important symbol of the story, a single red rose. I will also admit I tied a gold ribbon around my head to match the headband Belle wears but unfortunately it is hard to see in the photos. But it is the thought that counts though right? ;)

This look concludes the first installment of the Storybook Series so I really hope you guys enjoyed it! I'm hoping to keep expanding this project once I finish finals and return home this summer so there will certainly be more installments coming :) Hope you guys have a wonderful week!

Tan Beanie from 2020AVE, Cobra Lily Lipstick c/o Shien Cosmetics,  Green Parka c/o Oasap, Layered Leaf Necklace c/o Susanna Galanis, Crystal Pendant Necklace c/o Susanna Galanis, Tan Neoprene Dress c/o ShopAkira, Pendant Cuff c/o Susanna Galanis, White Crossbody Purse from Forever 21, Patent Leather Boots from Zara

If there was ever a jewelry designer who I can say just gets every facet of my style, it would have to be Susanna Galanis. Handmade from absolutely beautiful materials, Susanna creates the most luxurious and romantic jewelry pieces, all inspired from the stories of gods and goddesses! <3 I just love how much depth there is to her designs, both in the intricate details and layers, as well as the original inspirations. In this look, my leaf necklace, crystal necklace, and pendant cuff are all from her brand. Whether you wear each piece alone or combine them for a more opulent look, they definitely make a lovely statement.

To highlight all the rose gold tones, I wore my tan neoprene dress from Shop Akira! Neoprene dresses have so much fullness to them, which is great if you are looking to achieve a more voluminous silhouette. The thickness of the fabric also makes it a smarter choice if you're looking to wear dresses in cold weather ;) I wore a nude long sleeve top underneath (which is a really underrated wardrobe staple in my opinion!) to stay warmer and of course, layered nude tights.

To further bundle up, I wore my tan beanie and my fluffy parka, and completed the look with my dark red lipstick and a pair of patent leather boots. I have more looks coming up featuring Susanna's pieces so I'm quite eager to share those with you guys too! Hope you guys have a wonderful week! <3

DOLLY & CHARLIE: TAKE 2

From my previous Dolly & Charlie outfit post in November 2012

"Wild Peony" Lipstick c/o Shien Cosmetics, White Maxi Dress with Slits c/o Talulah, Mint Floral Platform Sneakers c/o Shelly's London

Photos by Chris and Michelle

One of the things I've been wanting to do again for quite some time is to take another set of outfit photos with my two favorite dogs in the entire world, Dolly and Charlie!! The first time I did this was back in November 2012 when I was still a senior in high school. It seemed fitting that now that over 2 years had passed, it was well overdue for a second photo shoot! I love Dolly and Charlie so much and cannot describe how much I miss them everyday that I am in New York so having these photos provides so much happiness to me and I hope that you guys enjoy them too!

I wanted to coordinate what I'm wearing to Dolly and Charlie like I did in my last shoot so this time I opted for this gorgeous white maxi dress from Talulah. I needed to add some height to this look so my dress would not be dragging on the ground but didn't want to opt for dainty heels due to having to hold on to both Dolly and Charlie's leashes so these platform sneaker wedges from Shelly's London were such a great solution! Not to mention the print is so suitable for both spring and summer. For a pop of color, I wore my current favorite fuchsia lipstick which is called Wild Peony and is from Shien Cosmetics. For some reason my photos lose saturation when they are uploaded to my blog, but I can personally vouch for how vibrant these colors are in person and how true to the color they are in the swatches on the website!

Thank you to Chris and my sister Michelle for lending their hands for this much more hectic shoot than usual, and of course to Dolly and Charlie for being such awesome models! <3

ALICE + OLIVIA: SAN FRANCISCO EVENT RECAP

Wednesday, April 01, 2015

All items from Alice + Olivia

Super excited today to share with you guys my event recap post of the Alice + Olivia shopping event I hosted in San Francisco recently! The event took place at the SF store on Fillmore street on Saturday, March 21st and it worked out quite nicely that I just so happened to be home for Spring Break that week. It was my first time hosting an event so I was nervous beforehand, but it ended up being a great and fun experience!

Prior to the event, I got to go to the store to put together this complete Alice + Olivia look. Floral print bustiers, embroidered tulle maxis, and even postage theme printed shoes—I was in absolute sartorial heaven that day! Not to mention, the playful, elegant, and fairytale-like vibe of their brand is something that fits my tastes in clothing just perfectly :)

On the day of the event, there was champagne and adorable cake pops, as well as amazing music from the talented (and super sweet!) DJ, Monika Santucci. I also had a rack in the store full of all my personal picks. Shoppers even got to enjoy a special event discount of $50 off their purchase of $300 or more. It ended up being a rather busy day of shopping with lines even forming for the fitting rooms, and it was a lot of fun greeting and talking to everyone who came in! Thank you so much to all the lovely ladies of the Alice + Olivia SF team who were the absolute kindest and especially to everyone who came out to the event! <3
